HoyLunes – The city of Valencia is preparing, on September 26 and 27, 2025, to become a vast plaza of thought and dialogue. The 17th Congress of Writers for Human Rights, organized by the Ateneo Blasco Ibáñez in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia and the Consell de Cultura of the Generalitat, will gather voices from across the country around a single horizon: that of human dignity.

The congress will address urgent issues such as the rights of Arab women, the housing crisis, the role of human rights in the economic and immigration spheres, the impact of artificial intelligence on human dignity, and conflicts in the Middle East, among others; all in the pursuit of defining what kind of societies we are capable of building.

The opening session will feature the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ms. Clara Viana; the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ms. Ana Noguera; the former Territorial Director of the Presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana, Mr. Francisco Molina; and the President of the Ateneo Blasco Ibáñez and Founder of the Writers for Human Rights Movement, Ms. Isabel Oliver. The ceremony will take place in the Tomás Vives Antón Hall, Administration Building, Fourth Floor, Room 4P-05, Faculty of Law, Avenida de los Naranjos S/N.

Lectures will be delivered by professors, students, authors, and writers, opening space for reflection to build a more dignified and just society, from the perspective of those who safeguard human rights through education, law, the vision of younger generations, and citizens who aspire to shape it.

The closing of the event is scheduled for September 27 at 8:00 p.m., with a Poetry Recital by the participants.

A gathering of voices as necessary as they are inspiring, inviting us to imagine a world where human rights are within reach of those who feel excluded and vulnerable, in the face of a society that often divides and rejects difference. An endeavor to sow memory, awareness, and collective action in times when indifference threatens to silence the deepest cracks of inequality.

Admission to the lectures as an attendee is free.
